Zaytuna Academy is dedicated to the traditional curriculum that was found common in the great teaching institutions of the past. A focus on what is called the liberal arts in the West includes grammar, rhetoric, and critical thinking skills as well as the important disciplines of the mind found in number, reasoning, and cosmology. The aforementioned sciences were known in the Muslim world as "the tools of knowledge" ('uluum al-aaliyyah). Coupled with this and more important are what was known as "the exalted sciences" ('uluum al-'aaliyyah). These include Quran, Hadith, Jurisprudence, and Spiritual Psychology.
